Privacy Policy
Effective 22 October 2026
In short
Ropewise has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your workouts, history and settings stay on your phone. The only data that leaves it is what's needed to handle purchases and, if you turn it on, the workouts you save to Apple Health or Health Connect.
This policy covers the Ropewise app for iPhone and Android and this website. Ropewise is made by Rovshan Baghirov, an independent developer (“we”). Questions are welcome at support@ropewise.app.
Data kept on your phone
The workouts you create, your workout history and streaks, and your settings (language, sounds, Health sync) are stored only on your device. We have no server that receives them and can't see them. Deleting the app deletes them, unless they are part of your phone's own backup.
Apple Health and Health Connect
If you turn on “Save workouts”, Ropewise asks for permission to write workouts to Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android). For each finished workout it saves the activity type (jump rope), start and end time, and a title with the workout's name. Ropewise never reads your health data, and nothing written to Health is sent to us. You can turn this off in Ropewise's settings or revoke access in the Health or Health Connect app at any time.
Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties.
Purchases and the free trial
Payments are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never see your card or payment details. To check which purchases you own, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID created on your device, your purchase receipts and basic device information (such as the operating system, app version, country and IP address). It does not receive your name or email address.
On iPhone, the 7-day free trial is a free item in the App Store, so Apple records that you took it. On Android, the date your trial started is stored with Google's Block Store, which keeps it in your Google account backup so the trial can't be restarted by reinstalling. It holds only that date.
Notifications and the lock screen
While a workout runs, Ropewise shows the timer in a notification (Android) or a Live Activity (iPhone). This is created on your phone and contains only the workout's progress.
Emails to support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to answer you. We delete support emails once they're no longer needed.
This website
ropewise.app has no cookies, analytics or trackers. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect against attacks.
Children
Ropewise is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because your data stays on your phone, you control it directly: you can delete workouts and history in the app, or delete the app. For anything RevenueCat holds about your purchases, email us and we'll ask RevenueCat to delete it. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU and UK), you may also have the right to access, correct or delete your data and to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects what data leaves your phone, the app will tell you.
